Christmas Party Outfit Challenge

There is now less than a month to go until Christmas – eek. So time to starting thinking about outfits for Christmas and new year parties. As always the aim of the challenge is to make your outfit as ethical (and stylish) as possible. So that can include vintage, second hand, ethical brands and upcycled clothes. We would like to see what you are wearing or would wear to a Christmas party.

Any members of Ethical Fashion Bloggers can participate, why not have a virtual party and include your favourite Christmas food and/ or drink in your post? If you are not yet a member, it is really easy to join and you can find out how to here.

To participate in the challenge, just post your outfit and a mention of what it is for and post the link in the comments section of this post before the end of Monday December 13th (please note this is a week later than the original date I had posted).

A little advanced warning of the date for our Christmas DIY round up, as I know things get so busy at Christmas, your links will need to be submitted by December 18th, but I will post about this a little nearer the time.

Can’t wait to see your outfits! Have a good week.

With warmest wishes

DIY and Upcycled Fashion Round Up – 21st November

I have decided to do the DIY round up a week later than scheduled to give everyone plenty of time to join in. It would be amazing if we could all share our favourite DIY/ upcycling posts, perhaps one from the past or something that you have done this week. All you need to do is post your link in the comments section of this blog post by next Monday (21st November) and I will post the round up on Wednesday (23rd November). All participants then just need to copy the round up and post to their blogs by the end of the week.

You can make anything that you like as long as it is fashion related, perhaps turn something old that you never wear into something different that you will wear or how about decorating something you already have by embellishing, dying or bleaching. The possibilities are endless and I am sure you have loads more ideas than me.

I can’t wait to see what you have you made!

If you are not yet a member of Ethical Fashion Bloggers and would like to join in our round up, you can join here.

Ethical Fashion Bloggers Outfit Challenge Round Up

For this week, as it is our first ever outfit challenge, we just have two outfits from Franca of Oranges and Apples and myself.

Franca’s outfit is a colourful combination of vintage and ethical pieces taking inspiration from the oranges and sixties styles that were seen on the catwalk for AW11. You can read more about her outfit in her post Orange, Green and Ethical.

My outfit is a mixture of vintage florals and boots from Dream in Green inspired by pattern mixing, florals and oriental influences of Mary Katrantzou’s AW11 collection. You can read more about it in my post Ethical Fashion Bloggers outfit challenge.

A really big thanks to Franca on participating this week and helping to get the ball rolling. Ethical Fashion Bloggers is steadily growing in numbers, we should hopefully have a bigger participation up for our DIY in 2 weeks (more details very soon!). Please don’t forget to let me know if you have any ideas for our next outfit challenge.

If you would like to join Ethical Fashion Bloggers and participate in our post round ups, you can find out how to join here.

With warmest wishes

The First Ever Ethical Fashion Bloggers Outfit Challenge

This week is the first ever Ethical Fashion Bloggers outfit challenge but from now on we will doing one per month and I hope that we continue to grow as a community and inspire each other with our own unique style.

This weeks challenge is to make your own ethical version of a catwalk look for AW11. You can choose any designer you look from any of the fashion weeks and you can choose to make your outfit very similar to the original or more just loosely inspired by.

Your outfit doesn’t have to be completely ethical, just one ethical item is fine but it would be great to include as many as possible. Ethical can be anything vintage, second hand, swapped, thrifted, upcycled or from an ethical fashion designer or brand. We are pretty much open to your interpretation of what ethical is.

In order to enter, please post your outfit to your blog with a brief explanantion of the outfit and which look it was inspired by. It would be great if you could also mention what the challenge is in the post. Please post the link to your blog in the comments for this post by the end of Monday and I will publish all of the outfits to the blog on Wednesday. If you are not already a member of Ethical Fashion Bloggers, you can find out how to join here.

I can’t wait to see your outfits. Please let me know if you have any ideas for next months challenge.

With warmest wishes
